So, The fan and blower are two different kinds of machines but it belongs to the same group. Both these machines are used to flow a gas or mostly air in a large area, but the main difference between fan and blower is that the fan is operating at low pressure while the blower is operating at high pressure. These machines are used in many industrial machines for air conditioning or cooling purpose.

A mechanical fan is a powered machine used to create flow within a fluid, typically a gas such as air. The fan consists of a rotor which is equipped with some blades. The rotating assembly of blades and hub is known as an impeller, a rotor, or a runner. Usually, it is contained within some form of housing or case. This may direct the airflow or increase safety by preventing objects from contacting the fan blades. Most fans are powered by electric motors, but other sources of power may be used, including hydraulic motors, internal combustion engines, and solar power.

Difference Between Fan and Blower


A blower is a machine used for generating the flow of air at substantial pressure. The air flow generated is used for different purposes such as small car cleaning blowers, vacuum cleaners, air conditions etc

Difference Between Fan and Blower:

1. The fan is used to flow of gas or air, in open space. The blower is mostly used to flow of gas in the specific direction.
2. The fan is smaller than the blower. Blowers are mostly larger than the fan.
3. It blows gases or air in every direction. The blower is used to point the air in the specific direction.
4. The energy consumes fan is less as compared to the blower. Blower consumes more energy.
5. The fan does not have moving blades. The blower may have moving blades to pointed air in the specific direction.
